What Is an Endorsed Instructor?

The Indoor Cycling Institute’s ★★★ Endorsed Instructor status is the highest level of professional recognition within the ICI framework.
It confirms that you are:

• Qualified
• Actively teaching
• Engaged in continued professional development
• Delivering sessions aligned with ICI Professional Standards

Endorsed status reflects consistent commitment to safe, effective and responsible indoor cycling instruction.
It provides employers and venues with visible confirmation of maintained professional standards beyond initial qualification.

Eligibility Criteria - How to Become Endorsed

To apply for ★★★ Endorsed Instructor status, you must:

• Hold an ICI entry-level instructor certificate, or have completed the recognised upgrade route
  
• Be a current ★★ Affiliated Instructor (active ICI membership)
  
• Have earned at least 5 ICI CPD points within the preceding 12 months
  
• Have delivered a minimum of 20 indoor cycling sessions in the past 12 months
  
• Sign the ICI Commitment to Best Practice declaration
  

CPD points may be gained through:

• ICI online CPD modules
  
• Live webinars and courses
  
• Events and masterclasses
  
• Structured session design submissions
  
• Reflective practice
  
• Approved written contributions
  
  

How to Apply

The process is simple:

• Members have access to their CPD portal where they can upload certificates, submissions, reflections and session plans
• Complete their declaration of sessions instructed and
• Sign the ICI declaration of commitment to best practice.
• We will review your application and confirm your endorsement status

Once approved, you'll receive:

• A new ★★★ Endorsed Instructor certificate
• Update to our Instructor Register.
  

Application Process

The application process is completed through the member CPD portal:

• Upload relevant CPD evidence
• Confirm session delivery record
• Sign the annual Best Practice declaration

Applications are reviewed by ICI before endorsement is confirmed.
Once approved, you will receive:

• A ★★★ Endorsed Instructor certificate
• Updated listing on the Instructor Register
