What Is an Endorsed Instructor? |
The Indoor Cycling Institute’s ★★★ Endorsed Instructor status is our highest level of recognition.
It shows that you are not only qualified and current, but that you're actively delivering safe, effective, and inspiring sessions - with a commitment to best practice and professional development.
This status demonstrates to employers and clients that you are a trusted, experienced professional with verified standards.

How to Become Endorsed
To apply for ★★★ Endorsed Instructor status, you must:
- Have an entry-level ICI instructor certificate, or have completed the upgrade course if you have certified elsewhere
- Be an ICI ★★ Affiliated Instructor
- Have earned at least 5 ICI CPD points in the preceding 12 months - these can be gained through:
- Online CPD modules
- Live webinars
- Courses
- Events and masterclasses
- Session design
- Reflective practice
- Writing qualifying blog posts or articles
- Online CPD modules
- Have delivered 20 indoor cycling sessions within the past 12 months, in any setting (gym, studio, club, etc.)
- Sign the ICI Commitment to Best Practice, a short declaration confirming your commitment to safe, inclusive, and effective session delivery in line with ICI guidance
How to Apply
The process is simple:
Once approved, you'll receive:
- Members have access to their CPD portal where they can upload certificates, submissions, reflections and session plans
- Complete their declaration of sessions instructed and
- Sign the ICI declaration of commitment to best practice.
- We will review your application and confirm your endorsement status
Once approved, you'll receive:
- A new ★★★ Endorsed Instructor certificate
- Addition to our Endorsed Instructor Register.

Keeping Your Endorsement
To maintain your ★★★ status, you’ll need to:
- Keep your ICI membership active
- Earn at least 5 new CPD points every 12 months
- Confirm you’ve delivered at least 20 sessions per year
- Re-sign the Best Practice declaration annually
