Instructor training

Which indoor cycling instructor course do I need?

There are three ways to complete ICI instructor training: online, a one-day practical course, or a two-day practical course. The right route depends on how you want to learn and the qualifications you already hold.

Not sure about an existing qualification? Ask ICI before you book.

Which sounds most like you?

The right route depends on the fitness knowledge you already have and how you want to train. If you already hold suitable Level 2 or Level 3 fitness training, the one-day route may be right for you. If you don’t, choose online training or the two-day face-to-face route.

Not sure which route applies to you? Ask ICI and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Book early and save

Limited SPRINT places on every scheduled course date

Each scheduled one-day and two-day course has a limited number of places available at the SPRINT price. Once those places have been booked, the remaining places are sold at the standard public price.

When the SPRINT places are gone, they’re gone. If you already know which date you want, booking early gives you the best chance of securing the lower price.

What stays the same

Different routes. Same outcome.

Whichever route you choose, you are working towards the same ICI Foundation Instructor certification and are assessed against the same instructor standard.

Same certification All three routes lead to ICI Foundation Instructor certification.
Same assessment standard You must demonstrate the required knowledge, session planning and practical instructional skills.
Tutor support You can ask questions and receive support while you complete your training and assessment.
Continue developing Successful students can join the ICI instructor register and continue with ICI CPD.
Still not sure?

Ask ICI

The one-day route is for people who already hold suitable Level 2 or Level 3 fitness training. If your certificate has a different title, is older, or you are simply unsure whether it covers the required underpinning knowledge, Ask ICI before you book.
